Today was the first day that I could sleep in my own bed and sleep in. Man it was nice. The trip to Colorado was amazing!!! I finished 5Th in my age group and got a podium. Those medals where sick. I'm glad to be home but cant wait for the trip next year. I also have to give a big shot out the Trixie and Gus P. for the support. I love them so much. Best trip ever.

Lighter and Faster

Today I just got the medal out of the mouth. Now that I wont be weighed down anymore from all that extra medal, I should be faster. At least I hope!

Training

Wednesday I went on the Expo group ride which was a fun ride. I was planning on riding there and riding back but didn't make it all the way back. today i rode to work and home. All together was right around 50 miles.Tomorrow I'm going out to ride mtb with Theo. Should be fun and sore!

Subaru Cup=Amazing

The Subaru Cup was great. I finisher 4th in the xc race and 2nd in the omnium! Also found out I qualified for nationals which means I have to start training harder. Today I did a recovery ride and tomorrow hopefully a intense ride.

Strike Three Your Out

As the day started, I was planning on doing a six hour duo with Keaton. As we started driving we didn't feel like we where going to make it on time. As we got to John Muir we set up and hung out. As the start of the race kicked off i felt like I was doing good and was in mid pack. After a couple miles out I dropped my chain and lost all my momentum and had to let about seven people by. As strike one started to sink in to me I was riding more and more out of control. Of course I drop my chain again and strike two plays even a bigger role. Now I have dug my self into a hole and of course when i was descending my chain snaps and whips the back of my leg. Of course strike three and your out. As i was walking the next three miles the bike patrol tryed helping out and made it even worse but they did show me a easier way to get back.
I'm just glad that it was the Subaru cup.

FINALLY

Finally got out on the new Salsa Moto Rapido today. Loved it. Only down side is making it one by nine and dropping the chain here and there. Keaton dropped his chain almost every descent. Not to cool but good ride.

Weekly Training

Today was a great day of road riding. Didn't push hard but a solid pace.

Got a good 15 miles in and biked to the top of Holy Hill. Which was not as hard as i thought it would be?!?!?The view was defiantly worth it though!

After that took Hogs back home which was a good finish.

Rain

As the rain started to trickle in i was a little disopointed. Was hoping to get out and get the feel of my new Moto Rapido frame. looks like wendsday will be the day for that.

Trek 100

As the trek 100 began it was unbelievable seeing people file in. After I got out on the road you could see miles of riders which was so cool. It was also warm and dry. The country side was gorgeous and all the farm land and animals where really neat to see as well. In the first twenty five miles it was only drizzling a little and I only had one minor crash. Other than that, it was a breeze. The next thirty miles got colder and rainier. I was wet, cold and biking. Not too happy. As the miles progressed so did the rain and the cold. It got to a point where I couldn't feel my hands or feet because I was so wet. Thank goodness there was a maintenance worker that had latex gloves which kept my hands dry but not warm. As Keaton, his brother, Justin, and I reached the one mile marker, I felt like I could fight anything, no matter what the situation. Now I have an idea what it is like for those who have cancer and how they fight a brutal fight every day for their lives. They don't stop because of the obstacles in the way or they don't say they don't feel like taking medicine today because their too tired. They fight until they win and I give much love and respect for those who do fight for there lives.
